However, their families never gave up hope that Ilya and Kira would one day be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twelve years ago, in the central Russian city of Cheboksary, two young people, ages twenty-five and twenty-two, respectively, named Ilya Zhirnov and Kira Cherkasova, vanished from sight.
